Falling Apart

Framed artist proof image signed by photographer Tom Murray

Sunday July 28th 1968 was to become one of the most memorable days for photographer Tom Murray. Little did he know that he would be participating in what was the last official publicity and promotional shoot of the Beatles as a group. This day now known worldwide as the 'Mad Day' summer of '68.

His site covers that historic session and shows what are considered by Beatle's experts to be the finest collection of colour images of the 'fab four' in 1968.

Limited edition signed mounted print by photographer David Wilson.

Bookshop, Laugharne, Carmarthenshire, West Wales.

I have a black and white shot of this bookshop with the door open for business taken about twelve months previously. As I strolled past this particular morning George the owner hadn''t opened up and I was struck by the wonderful colour of the door. Shortly afterwards George appeared and informed me that he''d secured a grant to do the place up, so sadly this beautifully battered edifice will be history pretty soon.

Limited edition signed mounted print named Abandoned Farm by photographer David Wilson.

Abandoned Farm, Tafarn-y-bwlch, Pembrokeshire, West Wales.

This image perfectly encsapsulates what I want to portray in my work and indeed is the sort of photograph I love to take. Towering over the farm are the Preseli hills shrouded in mist and looking rather foreboding. The fabric of the farm is just beginning to deteriorate - slates missing from the roof, windows falling apart - and the house and outbuildings look vulnerable and desolate. This is a picture of a once active farm in the early throes of decay.

Limited edition signed mounted print named ‘You Lookin' At Me’ by photographer David Wilson.

I could spin you some yarn about how I trekked across a field and squared up a few yards from this brute to capture his rugged beauty. But I'd be lying. He was actually in a pen and I shoved the lens through some bars. Definitely a photogenic old boy though.
